Shooter Maria Tutaia is captain and the most experienced player in the New Zealand team to contest the Fast5 world netball series in Melbourne.

The 10-strong squad will seek to maintain New Zealand's impressive record in the abbreviated format event in October, having won five of the six tournaments, including the past three.

It will be a chance for Tutaia to display her wares in the high-speed format after recovering from a foot injury, which sidelined her from the early part of the international season.

Other established Silver Ferns include Kayla Cullen and Ameliaranne Ekenasio, while coach Kiri Willis has included recent international debutants Maia Wilson, Te Paea Selby-Rickit and Storm Purvis.

The tournament is on October 29-30.

New Zealand squad: Maria Tutaia (capt), Maia Wilson, Ameliaranne Ekenasio, Te Paea Selby-Rickit, Gina Crampton, Sam Sinclair, Kayla Cullen, Kelly Dury, Phoenix Karaka, Storm Purvis.
