Tutaia to miss first Silver Ferns Test

There is no place for shooter Maria Tutaia in the Silver Ferns team to face Australia in the first Test in Sydney.

Veteran goal attack Tutaia, who is returning from injury, and defender Storm Purvis are the two players omitted by coach Janine Southby from her wider 14-strong group for Sunday's international.

A Netball New Zealand press release said Tutaia "continues to make strong progress" on a foot injury but it hasn't been enough to earn a return.

However, experienced defender Anna Harrison is among the 12 after a long period sidelined by injury while Southern Steel midcourter Gina Crampton is in line for a debut after winning inclusion.

Silver Ferns:

Katrina Grant (capt), Bailey Mes, Maia Wilson, Ameliaranne Ekanasio, Grace Rasmussen, Gina Crampton, Shannon Francois, Laura Langman, Anna Harrison, Te Paea Selby-Rickit, Phoenix Karaka, Jane Watson.
