Two dead in Southland plane crash

Two people are dead after a light plane crash in the South Island.

Emergency services were called to the scene Kaka Point in the Clutha District at about 10am on Sunday.

A St John's Ambulance spokesman confirmed two people had died.

A Civil Aviation Authority spokesman said two people were abroad the plane, believed to be a microlight aircraft.
