Two people have been injured in a crash on Auckland's Southern Motorway after one of the vehicles was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road.

The crash occurred on State Highway 1 on Sunday morning at 6.40am, between Mt Wellington and Penrose, police spokeswoman says.

There are no reports of serious injuries.

Emergency services were told one of the cars was on the wrong side of the road, the police spokeswoman said.
