Victory play kids in A-League against Roar

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 9/04/2016

Melbourne Victory have made seven changes for the A-League premiership-deciding match with Brisbane.

Brisbane can claim the premiership against a below-par Victory, who will be without Matthieu Delpierre, Oliver Bozanic, Leigh Broxham and Kosta Barbarouses.

Besart Berisha is suspended, with Rashid Mahazi and Daniel Georgievski also missing out.

The decision will no doubt be greeted with ire by Adelaide United, who are reliant on the Roar dropping points at AAMI Park to claim the club's first piece of silverware since 2006.

Carl Valeri makes his first start in four months, with teenagers Thomas Deng, Stefan Nigro and George Howard handed rare first XI positions.

Victory manager Kevin Muscat foreshadowed the move prior to kickoff, saying "no one would be put at risk" given the club's arduous Asian Champions League travel schedule.

Whatever the result on Saturday night, Victory are resigned to travelling away in the first week of the finals series.

Socceroo Tommy Oar makes his first start for Brisbane.
