Adam Voges will play for Middlesex in their bid to defend their County Championship title.

The 37-year-old has signed as an overseas player and will return to Lord's for his fourth spell with the reigning champions.

Voges will also be available for Middlesex's Royal London One-Day Cup squad. He averaged over 61 from 14 County appearances last year and scored an unbeaten 160 against Hampshire.

Middlesex managing director Angus Fraser said Voges is exactly the sort of player he wants at the club.

"Inviting Adam back was a simple decision," Fraser said.

"On each of the occasions he has been with Middlesex he has been outstanding in every way and he is just the sort of character I want playing for our club.

"In the past two seasons selection for Australia has reduced the amount of time he has spent with us but this season we expect to see far more of him.

"We look forward to having him available for virtually all our County Championship matches and our entire Royal London One-Day Cup campaign."
