Warriors hopeful on RTS injury

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 17/04/2016

The Warriors are hopeful Roger Tuivasa-Sheck hasn't suffered a season-ending knee injury in Saturday's NRL win over Canterbury in Wellington.

The star fullback left Westpac Stadium early in the 24-20 victory and didn't return.

There were initial fears Tuivasa-Sheck could have suffered an ACL injury that would have put an end to his first season with the Auckland-based franchise.

However hopes are that the Sydney Roosters premiership winner has suffered a medial ligament injury, which could still sideline the 22-year-old New Zealand international for up to three months.

Either way Tuivasa-Sheck appears set to miss out on playing for the Kiwis in next month's Anzac Test against Australia in Newcastle.

Tuimoala Lolohea moved to the back to cover for Tuivasa-Sheck in the Warriors' win over the Bulldogs and he shapes as the most likely option for Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney when he selects his team to face Mal Meninga's Kangaroos.
