The opposition and date of the fixture at Waikato Stadium won't be known until the full 2017 draw is released on Thursday.

However, Warriors managing director Jim Doyle says agreement has been reached with Hamilton City Council for the city to stage the club's one scheduled home game away from Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.

The Warriors have played three NRL matches in Hamilton, but all were as the "away" team - against Parramatta in 2005 and 2006 and Canterbury-Bankstown in 2014.
