Wellington bus drivers off the road

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 4/07/2016

Wellington bus drivers are parking up their rides on Tuesday to decide on whether or not to strike in protest against a planned overhaul of the city's bus services.

Tramways Union members are holding a stop work meeting during the middle of the day to discuss industrial action.

The union is opposed to major changes to routes, which it says won't improve services, and the prospect of a new bus contractor lowering drivers' wages and extending working hours.

The stop work meeting will be held between 9.30am and 2pm.

A number of Go Wellington and Valley Flyer services will be affected.
