Kiwi freeskier Jossi Wells has finished well out of the medals in the slopestyle final at the freeski World Cup at Quebec City in Canada.

Wells had finished third in his heat courtesy of an 87-point second run, but couldn't rediscover that form on Monday (NZT).

He finished 11th in the 16-strong field after crashing out in his first run, then recording 80.00 points for his second.

Andri Ragettli of Switzerland edged James Wood for gold, totalling 94.60 to the Briton's 93.80.

With less than a year until the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, New Zealand's snow sports athletes are looking to collect points to qualify nation spots.

Wells, who finished 11th in slopestyle and fourth in the half-pipe at the 2014 Sochi Games, currently sits 18th on the World Cup standings, with three events completed.
