Why vote National, Seymour asks

NZ Newswire logoNZ Newswire 12/09/2016

ACT leader David Seymour is wondering where there's much difference between National and Labour.

He's reacting to a government statement last week which said income redistribution had increased since National came to power - the top 10 per cent of households now pay 37.2 per cent of total income tax compared with 35.5 per cent previously.

"National's colonisation of Labour territory is complete - we though Helen Clark knew how to straddle the centre of politics but John Key has taken the art to a whole new leech-like level," Mr Seymour said in his weekly newsletter.

"What is even the point of electing a National government - it's not obvious that a moderate Labour government would be worse."

Mr Seymour is a government ally.
