New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson remains two shots off the pace after three rounds of the Puerto Rico Open in Rio Grande.

Wilkinson fired a solid three-under 69 to sit 13 under the card in a share of fourth place with five others.

The 38-year-old left-hander collected four birdies at the Coco Beach Golf and Country Club, his sole blemish coming with a bogey at the par four fourth.

Wilkinson's first-round 71 had left him well down the leaderboard, before he rocketed up the leaderboard after firing a sizzling nine-under 63 second round.

American Chris Stroud holds the outright lead courtesy of his third-round 67, with compatriots DA Points and Bill Lunde - who both shot 69s - a shot back in a share of second.
