New Zealanders Michael Venus, Marcus Daniell and Marina Erakovic are all on the board at the US Open in New York, winning contrasting first-round doubles matches.

Venus and Croatian partner Mate Pavic manufactured one break in each set to beat Julio Peralta of Chile and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina 6-4 6-4.

The winning pair have contested six ATP tournament finals this year, winning four of them.

Daniell, who partnered Venus at the Rio Olympics, also coasted through the opening round. He and American Brian Baker dispatched Malek Jaziri of Tunisia and Hans Podlipnik-Castillo of Chile 6-3 6-2

Erakovic and Spaniard Arantxa Parra Santonja fought back to beat Serbian Aleksandra Kurnic and Romanian Andreea Mitu 2-6 6-2 6-0, having converted five of the seven service break opportunities on offer.

Erakovic, whose world ranking has slipped to 114th, isn't in the singles draw in New York of the first time in six years. She failed to advance through qualifying.

A fourth Kiwi will open his doubles campaign on Thursday when Artem Sitak combines with Dutchman Robin Haase.
