NZ First leader Winston Peters was ordered to leave parliament's debating chamber on Wednesday after a spat with Speaker David Carter.

Mr Peters was questioning Prime Minister John Key about the government's plans for the SuperGold Card when he disagreed with a ruling from Mr Carter.

He wouldn't back down and Mr Carter ordered him out.

Mr Peters had to stay out for the rest of question time.
