Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto will be among the featured acts at the 2017 Womad festival in Taranaki.

Gilberto, the daughter of bossa nova icon Joao Gilberto, is noted for her own take on the laid-back jazz style.

She is part of the full festival line-up released by organisers, joining British Ska legends The Specials, who were the first act to be announced a fortnight ago.

Also heading to New Plymouth on March 17 and 19 are French-Chilean musician Ana Tijoux, Vietnam's Hanoi Masters, New Orleans brass group Hot 8 Brass Band and Grammy winner Oumou Sangare from Mali.

Local artists include Wellington producer and instrumentalist Lord Echo, and Auckland-based acts Mt Eden and Sons of Zion.
