Woman assaulted while running in Auckland

A woman has been attacked while jogging in a popular Auckland park.

The victim, aged in her late 20's, went to Western Springs with her friends around 7:40pm on Tuesday.

While her friends fed the ducks, she went for a run.

She dropped her jersey to her friends at about 8:20pm and continued running when she came across three males by the zoo, which is next to the park.

One of the males grabbed her by her clothes and another began pushing her towards a creek; the third male stood by and watched.

She fought with the pair and managed to run away.

Police want to speak with the third male who witnessed the initial assault, he was described as being a Caucasian 16-17 year-old, wearing denim shorts and a dark coloured t-shirt.

The offenders were both described as 16-17 year-old Caucasian males, both wearing jandals, one was wearing beige chinos and had dark hair, and the other wearing beige shorts and a hooded sweatshirt.
