New Zealand striker Chris Wood has continued his dizzying run of goalscoring for Leeds United, finding the net in their latest Championship division win.

Wood struck in the 55th minute of their 2-0 home win over lowly Nottingham Forest, lifting the club from fifth to third to boost their bid for Premier League promotion.

The 25-year-old smashed the ball home from close range to bag his 20th goal in all competitions this season.

Wood has scored 17 in the Championship, including six in his last four games.

Only high-profile striker Dwight Gayle's 20 goals for Newcastle eclipses the Kiwi's tally in the second-tier league.

In 32 games, Wood has achieved his goal stated in a pre-season interview, when he spoke of wanting to be a 20-goal-per-season striker.

Wood's latest goal will only serve to heighten recent speculation that he is in demand from Premier League outfits and cash-rich Chinese clubs.
