A car bomb attack on an army training camp in Yemen have killed at least 45 people.

At least 18 people have died after a car bombing in Aden, in southern Yemen.

Monday's blast targeted a school where army recruits were gathering in Al Mansoura, which lies north of Aden, a security source told DPA.

Thirty other people were also wounded in the blast, the source added. So far, there has been no claim of responsibility.

The source said that most of the recruits were from the southern province of Abyan.

Aden, Yemen's second city and a base for the Saudi-based government, has been witnessing for months a series of assassinations and blasts against the army and police forces.

Previous similar attacks has been claimed by Islamic State.

The death toll in a suicide bombing at a local militia compound in the southern Yemeni city of Aden has risen to at least 45, medical charity Medicins Sans Frontieres says.

A spokesperson for the group said at least 60 other wounded people had been brought into a hospital run by the charity in Aden.

The port city, the temporary base of Yemen's internationally recognised government, has seen a wave of bombings and shootings targeting officials and security forces.
