Zayn Malik might be famous for his music (and a certain fashionable girlfriend) but he also draws a crowd his his ever-changing grooming situation. Just recently the pop star dyed his hair gray, then pink, then he debuted a face tattoo that, as it turns out, wasn't real. Just yesterday, he debuted a newly shaved head. That he looks about 10 years younger is sort of ironic given that, Complex just published an interview with Malik where he claimed that he was not allowed to grow a beard while in One Direction because he looked older than the rest of the band. He commented,
"There were certain restrictions in terms of the way that we could come outside of that young teen boy look...Mainly my beard, honestly. I wasn't allowed to keep it. Eventually, when I got older, I rebelled against it, and decided to keep it anyway. That was just because I looked older than the rest of them. That's one of the things that is now quite cool. I get to keep my beard. I also wanted to dye my hair when I was in the band, but I wasn't allowed to."
For the record, when it comes to "you can't control me" grooming moves, we much prefer a good old fashioned buzz-cut to a face tattoo.
