Former Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO and so-called "pharma bro," Martin Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison on March 9, 2018, after he was convicted in 2017 of lying to his hedge fund investors and for manipulating the shares of his biotech company. The sentence was less than half the minimum 15-year term that prosecutors said they wanted. He has also been asked to surrender the $7.4M he made in profits from his crime.
