Paid Parental Leave Bill laid to rest

Changing the world one wananga at a time…

A small crowd gathered last night at Lower Hutt’s Little Theatre to watch the last show of the play A Stage of One’s Own, a theatre festival empowering all to identify with gender freely. At the end of the show there was a wananga where the audience had the opportunity to share their thoughts on gender inequality and other themes present in the play. In a Māori cultural context the word wananga conveys meanings related to highly evolved knowledge, lore, arts and also "forum" - in the sense of a discussion to arrive at deeper understanding.
