Hundreds turn out for White Ribbon event

Hundreds of Cantabrians packed Christchurch’s Cathedral Square today to mark White Ribbon anti-violence day. Members of the Army’s LSV squad attended along with police and local politicians. Justice Minister Amy Adams gave a speech, in which she labelled domestic violence a “national embarrassment” and called for everyone to speak out against it. “We have the highest rate of reported violence against women by their partners than anywhere in the world,” she said.
