Labour MP Phil Goff - I believe we can make a better Auckland

Labour MP Phil Goff has officially tossed his hat in the ring to be Auckland mayor and will resign from parliament if he wins. Goff in his speech today talks about the values that he stands for “I’m standing for the mayoralty because I believe we can make a better Auckland. An Auckland where talent and innovation and creativity thrives. An Auckland where people care for each other, they care for a sustainable future, and they care for the future of a city in which their children and their grandchildren are going to grow up. Auckland is the city that I love. It is the city that I was born in, under the lea of Mangawhai, Mt Eden. I grew up in Three Kings and Papatoetoe. It’s a city that I went to University at, the UOA and taught there, and also at the University of Technology.”
