Paid Parental Leave Bill laid to rest

Labour MP Phil Goff - today is about announcing my candidacy.

Labour MP Phil Goff has officially tossed his hat in the ring to be Auckland mayor and will resign from parliament if he wins. Goff says that it will be a challenge and a privilege to make a difference for Auckland city. “It’s still ten months before Aucklander’s cast their votes. Today is about announcing my candidacy, not about launching a campaign. That will happen much closer to the election and that is the time that we’ll be setting out the policy platforms that I am running on. But in the mean time know this. That I understand that the job of being mayor is a huge and demanding challenge. But it’s also a privilege. A privilege to make a difference for this city of ours Auckland. A chance to make this city, world leading in the quality of life that it provides it’s citizens. A city where talent and enterprise can thrive.”
