Victim’s sister speaks out against domestic violence

Ngareta joined the White Ribbon Day March yesterday in Auckland. She lost her sister Ngamere on the 5th September 2015 at age 21 to domestic violence. “I’m here to represent my sister. We recently lost her to domestic violence,” she says. "We never talked about violence in relationships because we expected that their will be no violence in relationships. People should reach out more and feel confident in talking about the issue that they have.”To get help: Rape Crisis: 0800 88 33 00. Women’s Refuge: 0800 733 Victims Information helpline: 0800 650 65
