© Provided by Sportal com au Jack Bird is officially a Bronco after pencilling a massive $2.1 million three-year deal, according to The Daily Telegraph's David Riccio.

There were whispers Bird was on his way to Newcastle, but master coach Wayne Bennett's pulling power was too strong and the youngster decided the move to Red Hill was best for his future.

Originally reports suggested the offer was worth $1.2 million a season, however, Bird will have to settle for a nifty $700,000 a season pay cheque.

The deal is meant to be worth more bthan a total of $350,000 than what the Sharks tabled.

The 22-year-old's wish to play in the spine will be granted by Bennett, it's just a matter of whether he plays in the halves or at fullback.

Anthony Milford's deal is reported to be of greater value than the new recruit, with the Broncos offering a massive $900,000 a year.
