Class action takes aim at banks over "gouging" super

September 11, 2018. Slater and Gordon class actions head Ben Hardwick speaking to media at the firm's offices in Melbourne about the launch of a class action against bank-owned super funds on the back of evidence from the banking royal commission. Hardwick says the actions could be launched against several major banks on behalf of millions of Australians. Slater and Gordon are calling for people to sign up to the Get Your Super Back claim, which will involve a series of class actions, most likely starting with Commonwealth Bank-owned superannuation fund, Colonial First State and AMP. Hardwick says that Colonial First State "dumped" super with its parent bank, which had "ludicrously low" interest rates, below even the Reserve Bank of Australia's cash rate.
