Ferry Weertman made it double Dutch gold in open water swimming at the Rio Olympics on Tuesday with a victory in the men's 10km at Copacabana beach.

Weertman got his hand on the timing board first in a frantic photo finish win over Greece's Spiros Gianniotis, who was given the same time of 1hr 52min 59.8sec.

France's Marc-Antoine Olivier earned bronze, 2.2 seconds back.

Weertman's triumph followed Dutch swimmer Sharon van Rouwendaal's victory in the women's 10km on Monday.
