Imagine getting to a point in your life when you're getting airports named after you. Now imagine getting there at the age of 32.

Madness, isn't it?

But this is the life of Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Real Madrid superstar's existence took another turn into the bizarre when he attended the ceremony honouring - well, himself - at the official name change of Madeira aiport, on his home island off the coast of Portugal.

Ronaldo already has a museum on the island, complete with a statue of himself outside it, and this airport name-change also came complete with a bust of the four-time Ballon d'Or winner. At least it was supposed to be him.

Because it just looks a little... weird, doesn't it?

And not surprisingly, people on Twitter had plenty to say about it, including just who it actually looked like, with Niall Quinn, John Arne Riise and David Coulthard among the suggestions.

@Limpar33 wrote "Ronaldo attends the unveiling of a David Coulthard bust", while BBC presenter Dan Walker claimed that this is what happens "When you send the statue guy of picture of Niall Quinn instead of Cristiano Ronaldo #Awkward"

In among all the suggestions, though, there were a couple of common themes, with "The Head" from old children's TV programme Art Attack and a certain Paul Konchesky getting a a couple of shouts.

In among the hilarity, though, there were a few suggestions that the statue was ACTUALLY pretty accurate.

Yeah, we're not believing that one either.
