New Zealand coach Steve Hansen was left satisfied by his team's year, completed with a victory over France on Saturday.

The All Blacks ran in three tries to record a hard-fought 24-19 win over their hosts at the Stade de France.

It completed a 2016 during which New Zealand won 13 of 14 matches, including taking out the Rugby Championship.

Hansen was predictably happy, telling Sky TV: "We've got to be pleased about what we've achieved throughout the year.

"We'll go home and have a good summer and really build for this Lions series."

France coach Guy Noves was happy with his team despite their loss in Saint-Denis.

Israel Dagg, Beauden Barrett and Charlie Faumuina crossed for the All Blacks' tries before Louis Picamoles went over for the hosts.

"I am very proud tonight. New Zealand were superior but they did not have it easy. We crushed them at times," Noves said.

"We have a team with a lot of self-belief, a team who learn and play a rugby that they like."
