The Baby Blacks ran in 11 tries in Kutaisi, Georgia, to leave Ireland with three defeats from three in what has been a disastrous campaign.

Earlier losses to Italy and Scotland, teams that Peter Malone's side beat during the 2017 U20 Six Nations, had already left Ireland unable to qualify for the semi-finals.

At last year's tournament, Ireland defeated New Zealand for the first time at U20 level and played in the World Championship final.

Ireland took a 3-0 lead through a Conor Fitzgerald penalty but didn't score for the remainder of the game today as tournament favourites New Zealand showed their class.
