With Kieran Foran set to return to Sydney next season and Canterbury his all but confirmed destination, Matthew Johns thinks the signing will make the Bulldogs a top four side.

In what's been a shaky season to date, Canterbury are sitting eighth on the ladder with five wins from nine games and despite the solid record, many believe their squad is lacking.

Johns clearly of the belief that Foran is exactly what Des Hasler's side have been missing.

"Foran’s going to make all the difference, they’ll be a top four side when he goes there," he said on Triple M Grill Team Sydney.

"What he does importantly is all the players can then fall into their natural positions.

"They need Moses (Mbye) in 2016, to be more than the player he is.

"When Foran goes there he’ll run the whole side and he’ll allow Moses Mbye to be that exciting free runner of the football.

"All of a sudden the pieces of the puzzle sit where they should be."

Foran's move to the Dogs seems all but done with Josh Reynolds departing the club at season's end to join the Tigers to seemingly make way for Foran.
