It's been dubbed "The Money Fight", but Conor McGregor's upcoming bout with the undefeated future hall-of-famer Floyd Mayweather is set to sting the pockets of those watching live at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26.

It was always going to be the case, but it's now been confirmed that anyone wanting to get a slice of the action in the flesh is going to have to fork out a pretty penny for the privilege.

The undefeated, former five-weight boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather, will face the UFC's main attraction in Conor McGregor in what may possibly be the highest-grossing fight of all time.

As predicted, the 20,000-seat arena was sold out almost immediately when tickets went on sale Tuesday (AEST), but if you're willing to shell out US$150,000, you may be there to witness history.

Tickets are popping up all over the internet, with resale website StubHub displaying tickets at that outrageous price.

It is understood that tickets already sold on StubHub have done so at an average price of US$3,265 - with the cheapest available ticket at the moment going for US$1,875.

The fight, which is estimated to generate a profit of about US$600 million, will be broadcast across 400 cinemas in the US thanks to negotiations by Mayweather Promotions.

Money's 2015 bout with Manny Pacquiao generated an estimated US$623 million on the back of 4.6 million pay-per-view buys.

Both McGregor, 29, and Mayweather, 40, will earn in excess of US$100 million for the fight, with the latter coming out of retirement to answer the challenge.
