New Zealand's 470 women's sailing crew of Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie have won silver.

The duo sat in second place overall heading into today's medal race, but were never in a position to take the gold as the team from Great Britain team were too far ahead by the final medal race.

The defending gold medallists got off to a rocky start in the regatta when they were disqualified from their first race, dropping them down the standings.

However, they recovered quickly and won four races, more than any of their competitors.
