A deal to bring boxing icon Manny Pacquiao to Australia to fight Brisbane ‘schoolteacher’ Jeff Horn could be confirmed as early as Wednesday, according to reports.

Negotiations between Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum and Horn’s representative Dean Lonergan in Las Vegas are reaching a climax.

Arum is planning a three-fight farewell tour for the legendary Philippines fighter.

There are reports the Middle East is still a possible destination for Pacquiao’s next fight, however Arum insists his sole focus is on Australia.

“Right now, we are only looking at Australia,” Arum told News Limited.

If the fight does go ahead it would be the richest ever held on Australian soil.

Horn, 28, is 10 years younger than Pacquiao and has had 50 fewer professional fights than the legendary Filipino.

The bout would be for Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title.
