In an emergency hearing in the NSW Supreme Court on Tuesday afternoon, Eels chairman Steven Sharp, football manager Daniel Anderson, chief executive John Boulous and fellow officials Tom Issa and Peter Serrao sought "urgent interlocutory relief in relation to the notices of intention to cancel registration sent by the defendant", National Rugby League Limited.

Their barrister, Arthur Moses SC, argued in court that the NRL may have breached procedural fairness.

The case will return to court on Friday.
