Todd Carney likely heading back to Super League

© Provided by Sportal com au Todd Carney's bid to play in the NRL again seems destined to failure with his manager saying the former Raiders, Roosters and Sharks playmaker will probably head back to English Super League.

Carney returned to Australia for the summer, fought Chris Sandow in a charity boxing match, and was hoping to land another NRL contract.

But without much interest, Carney will most likely head back overseas.

"It's complicated and I'd say he'll end up back in the UK," Carney's manager David Riolo told News Corp.

"There always will be (interest) from the NRL, he's a good player."

Carney was most recently released from Catalans Dragons in October.

Ironically, Carney's boxing opponent, Sandow, has all but ruined any prospects of his own NRL return after allegedly being caught on camera in a street fight in his home town of Cherbourg this week.

Like Carney, Sandow returned from Super League in search of another chance to play footy in Australia.
