Tyson Fury’s trainer and uncle, Peter Fury, has said that Tyson is willing to relinquish his world heavyweight titles and could possibly return to training in six months.

Tyson Fury withdrew from his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, which was set to take place on October 29th at the Manchester Arena with mental health issues.

Speaking on Sportsweek, Fury said his nephew has been driven to despair, but, confirmed that he will return to the ring.

“I see him being back in the gym in March or April. He’ll resume his career,”

When speaking about Tyson’s WBA and WBO heavyweight titles, Fury believes Tyson should be made a champion in recess meaning he will be able to challenge whoever holds the titles on his return to the ring.

“The titles shouldn’t be held up. While Tyson is out for medical reasons, the titles should be freed up, let people fight for them.

“But Tyson should be held in regard so that when he does come back to box he should be available to move straight into position to fight for those world titles.”

The British Boxing Board of Control will be meeting on October 12th to discuss Tyson Fury’s current situation which includes whether he should keep his boxing license.
