According to the Bristol Post , the new LEGOLAND Discovery Centre will be a huge indoor attraction at Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena.

Families wanting to go will have to wait a little while longer, as work on the complex is scheduled to start later this year.

For example, kids can enjoy masterclasses from a Lego Master Model Builder, go on an adventure on interactive rides, watch a film in the 4D cinema, or play in one of the LEGO-themed areas on offer.

As a bonus for little ones who are huge LEGO fans, there will even be some special rooms available to hire for birthday parties.

Also on the cards will be one of the popular MINILAND areas which are found in all of the theme parks, and have proven a firm favourite with the thousands of families who flock to the parks each year.

"It was always conceived and designed from a child’s perspective so it is a very special place, offering an opportunity for adults and younger children to spend fun, quality time together.

"The Barclaycard Arena is an exciting destination with a strong tourist proposition, and in an area where we have first-hand experience through operating the SeaLife Centre in neighbouring Brindleyplace.

"This attraction will be only the second Legoland Discovery Centre to open in the UK, the other is in Manchester.

"These two indoor attractions together with our very popular Legoland Windsor Resort reflect the insatiable appetite for everything Lego in the UK.

"Most importantly when the new Birmingham attraction opens in 2018 it will underline our mission to bring joy to families across the world through educational Lego play.”

Also new for the park is the exciting Castle Hotel, set to open its doors in July, a medieval-inspired hotel where budding knights, princesses, wizards and sorceresses can unwind after a day of adventure!
