Wildlife and conservation officers said they were called to remove a bear from a neighborhood in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Thursday, May 16. According to reports, a sow bear was sighted in a neighborhood close to The Citadel Mall on Thursday afternoon, prompting a response from firefighters, police and conservation officers. Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the area is “poor bear habitat” and officers decided that it needed to be relocated for the safety of the bear and its neighbors.
