82 charged in northern NSW drug sweep

More than 80 people have been charged and almost $1 million worth of drugs seized in a four-month police sting in northern NSW.

From July to November, officers from Operation Sweeper targeted illicit drug dealing in the Byron Bay and Tweed Heads area, police said on Tuesday.

Eighty-two people have been charged with 155 offences with officers allegedly seizing $960,000 worth of cannabis, cocaine, ice and heroin, as well as more than $55,000 in cash.
