THEY SAID IT: "It was a bit poor to run all that way to have a go at me. If my players sledged the opposition coach I would be disappointed. That's a lack of respect." - Brisbane coach John Aloisi voices his displeasure after Melbourne City goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis ran from his goal to Roar's bench to deliver an exuberant celebration after teammate Nicolas Colazo scored the opener.

STAT THAT MATTERS: Melbourne Victory fired 21 shots to Perth's three and held 66 per cent of possession at AAMI Park on Friday night, yet they could only draw 1-1 with the Glory.

MAN OF THE ROUND: Adelaide can thank Henrique - or rather, his two screamers - for their first win of the season. The Brazilian opened scoring against the Phoenix with a thundering left-footer, before topping that feat within a quarter-hour with a 20m bullet to seal a 2-0 win. Honourary mention to Sydney FC's Milos Ninkovic and Berni Ibini for their superb solo goals against Newcastle.

CONTROVERSY CORNER: The war of words between Melbourne City coach John van 't Schip and his Brisbane counterpart John Aloisi exploded again after Saturday's 1-1 draw, when van 't Schip accused Roar defender Jade North of diving and feigning injury in an attempt to get City captain Bruno Fornaroli sent off.

UNDER PRESSURE: The Reds, courtesy of their breakthrough victory, have left the Phoenix at the foot of the table and Ernie Merrick surely wondering how to mend their faltering season. At the very least, three of their next four opponents are also in the bottom four.
