Anthony Albanese has been 'sweat-bombed' by Labor colleague Ed Husic outside Parliament House.

Mr Albanese was midway through a spirited answer on the building industry watchdog on Tuesday morning when a pack of basketball-playing MPs crashed his press conference.

"It's important that all trade unions obey the rule of law but it's also important ... that Tim (Hammond) not walk in front of the camera, but he's new, he's new, from Western Australia, and he's tall too," he told reporters.

Mr Husic then leapt into the conference, slinging his arm around Mr Albanese.

"That's the first time I've ever agreed with Anthony Albanese on anything," Mr Husic joked.

"What do you call that? That's not a photo bomb, that's more a media doorstop bomb from Ed Husic," Mr Albanese said.

"No, that's a sweat bomb," Mr Husic replied, having left a sweat stain on his colleague's shoulder.

"Thanks for that Ed, I'll be smelling you all day," Mr Albanese said.

"Merry Christmas," Mr Husic replied, before walking inside.
