Just hours after magazine published new photos of Amber Heard's battered face from an alleged incident with Johnny Depp in December 2015, new text messages have leaked from another apparent altercation between the couple in May 2014.

In a series of texts obtained by , the 30-year-old actress appeared to liaising with Johnny Depp's assistant, Stephen Deuters, about being "kicked" by the 52-year-old star.

"Think he's just texted you. He's incredibly apologetic and knows that he has done wrong," Stephen allegedly wrote. "He wants to get better now. He's been very explicit about that this morning. Feel like we're at a critical juncture."

Entertainment Tonight's source says Amber was the recipient of the text and responded: "Yes, but I don't know how to be around him after what he did to me yesterday. I don't know if I can stay with him."

Stephen supposedly answered: "He wants to see you so much. He's distraught."

"Amber" replied: "Obviously he has no idea what he did or the extent that he did it. If someone was truly honest with him about how bad it really was, he'd be appalled. The man Johnny…[text trails off].

"I'm sad that he doesn't have a better way to really know the severity of his actions yesterday. Unfortunately for me, I remember in full detail everything that happened."

"Stephen" texted back: "He was appalled. When I told him he kicked you, he cried. It was disgusting. And he knows it. He's a little lost boy. And needs all the help he can get. He is so very sorry, as he should be."

Tokyo, the island, London (remember that?!), and I always stay. Always believe he's going to get better...And then every 3 or so month [sic], I'm in the exact same position."

Entertainment Tonight reached out to both Stephen and Johnny's rep to verify the texts, with no response yet.

It's yet another twist in the pair's bitter divorce battle, which started last week after Amber alleged that Johnny physically and verbally abused her throughout their 15-month marriage.

Johnny's team rejected Amber's demands for spousal support, which prompted the actress to go public with claims that Johnny "smashed" an iPhone on her face on May 21.

Amber was granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against the star.

In court documents, Amber said that "there was one severe incident in December 2015 when I truly feared for my life". She added that Johnny had been abusive for the "entirety" of their relationship.

Johnny's lawyer Laura Wasser claimed that Amber is "attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse".

The pair first started dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of , before getting married in February 2015.
