They were married for only 15 months, but Amber Heard could walk away with millions of Johnny Depp's sizeable fortune.

The 30-year-old actress will take home at least $20 million from her divorce from the 52-year-old star legal experts told .

As the couple never had a prenup, Amber is guaranteed at least one half of the amount that their combined wealth has increased since their marriage.

In that time, Johnny was paid an estimated $61 million for , and $40 million for gangster film . He has a total net worth of $400 million…but let's remember that being Johnny Depp isn't exactly a cheap lifestyle.

"If he made $30 million and he spent $30 million, you're SOL," New York divorce lawyer Suzanne Bracker told .

The lawyer, who is not representing either party, estimates that Amber will take away $20 million-plus – that's at least $10 million from Johnny's income, and $10 million from his properties, including his private Caribbean island and his French country estate.

According to Amber's divorce papers, she earned a meagre $383k in 2015, but that was reduced to only $51,000 after expenses including $18,876 in "business meals".

The starlet could earn even more if Johnny's people settle quickly – and all that bad press could easily give way to "a quick and possibly lucrative settlement", says Laurence Greenberg, another divorce lawyer.

In her divorce papers, Amber accused Johnny of "smashing" an iPhone at her face on May 21. Photographs of her bruised face were submitted to court – and the actress is still sporting faint bruises on her right cheek.

Amber, who was spotted laughing after leaving a four-hour meeting with her lawyers on Saturday, went public with her domestic abuse allegations against Johnny after his lawyers rejected her demands on Friday.

According to , she wanted $50,000 a month in spousal support, $125,000 for her legal fees, their LA penthouse, his Range Rover, and sole custody of their Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo.

She was been granted a temporary restraining order against the actor after alleging that he was "verbally and physically abusive" throughout their marriage, referring to his "scary" temper and "history of drug and alcohol abuse".

Another report in claims that Amber and Johnny's fight broke out over his late mother Betty Sue, who died just three days before Amber filed for divorce.

A source told the UK paper that Johnny's daughter Lily-Rose, 17, and son Jack, 14, didn't want Amber at Betty Sue's deathbed.

"That caused huge friction," the source said. "Johnny told Amber, but says she acted ''like a petulant child'. That's when things turned nasty and a huge row erupted.'"

Another TMZ report claims that Amber did not tell the police about Johnny's iPhone attack when they arrived at her home after a 911 call. Amber allegedly said it was just a "simple argument" with "my husband". The police saw no evidence of injury, and no police report was filed.

It's hard to know who's telling the truth, but Johnny's certainly had a lot of public support, including statements from his daughter Lily-Rose and ex-partner Vanessa Paradis.

Johnny's close friend, comedian Doug Stanhope, penned a column on The Wrap accusing Amber of "blackmail".
