Police have laid more charges against teenagers allegedly involved in a high-speed chase through country Victoria, with three now in custody and one suspect still on the run.

A stolen BMW raced from Thomastown to Heathcote on Friday afternoon - narrowly missed a pedestrian in Lancefield - followed by unmarked police cars and news helicopters.

Two girls, aged 14 and 17, were arrested on Friday at a Kilmore supermarket and charged.

The 17-year-old girl was released and subsequently re-arrested on Saturday, along with a 15-year-old boy, after the car was found dumped in Thomastown.

A police spokeswoman on Sunday said the 17-year-old has now been charged with theft of a vehicle and breaching bail.

The 15-year-old boy has been charged with theft of a vehicle.

Both have been remanded in custody and will appear in a children's court at a later date.

The 14-year-old girl charged on Friday was already in custody.

Police are still searching for a fourth occupant - a male - who is on the run.

It was earlier inaccurately reported there were five people in the car during the high-speed chase.
