Armed robber steals medicine in North Qld

A man who held up a far north Queensland pharmacy at knifepoint, stealing prescription drugs and cash, has been caught after a tip off by the public.

The 39-year-old man was wearing a balaclava when he threatened staff with a knife before fleeing the pharmacy with cash and a substantial amount of prescription drugs, say police.

Witnesses helped police track down the the thief who has been charged over the robbery and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday.
