ASC shipbuilders to strike in Adelaide

Workers at the federal government's Adelaide-based shipbuilder ASC will take industrial action over the coming days after two years of fruitless negotiations on conditions.

The Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union says ASC Ships workers are unhappy about proposed revisions to their enterprise agreement that would mean they are not consulted about workplace changes.

An overtime ban will mean the workers won't come in to the shipyard on Friday, Saturday or Sunday - rostered days off for them - to be followed by two days of striking on Monday and Tuesday.
