Socceroos left-sided utility Craig Goodwin has scored for Sparta Rotterdam in a comeback 2-2 draw against Willem II in Dutch football's top-flight competition.

Willem II looked like ending their five-match winless run in the Eredivisie when a Fran Sol Ortiz double put them in control in Rotterdam.

However, goals from former Adelaide United star Goodwin in the 69th minute and Thomas Verhaar - in the 90th - salvaged a draw for the hosts.

The 24-year-old Goodwin came on as a second-half substitute for Sparta who are eighth in the competition and 12 points behind runaway leaders Feyenoord.

Goodwin's uncapped compatriot Kenny Dougall played the entire match for Sparta.

Centre-back Dougall, 23, has represented Australia at under-age level but is yet to play for the senior national team.

Speedster Goodwin was an unused substitute in Australia's 1-1 draw with Japan in Melbourne last week.

Meanwhile, fellow Australian Jason Davidson had a weekend to forget in Holland after he was sent off after 36 minutes for Groningen who lost 3-0 to Heerenveen.
