Aussies bat first in T20 opener

Sri Lanka won a fifth consecutive toss but have elected to give Australia first use of the wicket in the opening match of the two-match Twenty20 series in Pallekele.

Australia made three changes to their line-up from the side which cruised to a five-wicket victory in the final one-day international on Sunday.

Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques and Peter Nevill have come into the side in place of John Hastings, Matthew Wade and the injured Aaron Finch.

Sri Lanka made numerous changes to their side, with veteran allrounder Tillakaratne Dilshan notably returning despite his retirement from the one-day arena.

Sri Lanka have defeated Australia in the only two previous Twenty20 matches played between the nations on home turf.
